Love & Loss

Commissioned for the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art for their 2018 show memorializing the fires of 2017.  Love & Loss is a mixed media panel examining the narrative of one couple during the Sonoma fires of 2017, which burned all they owned as they fled for their lives.  This piece examines the fine line between fetishizing and honoring great loss.  Elements include burnt fence boards from their property and a smoke-stenciled interview in their own words.
