Platonic Solids: Hexagon 36"x36"x1.5" mixed media 2016
Series of four oil and mixed media paintings on panels exploring the universal languages of geometry and binary code. The shapes of the triangle, square, pentagon and hexagon, all created with only a compass and ruler, were understood by Plato to be the building blocks for the beginnings of science as we now know it. I've incorporated Einsteins scribbled notes on relativity into the background DNA of the painting. The binary code is a translation of my prose writings. Framed inside my hands and radiating a gold corona are four central icons: the alchemical universal man, a geometrical representation of infinity, the cosmic baby, and the atomic structure of an H2o molecule.
