Sacred Spaces mixed media 26"x16"
In this series I'm exploring the power of pattern language in society. Consider the three examples here: The three Abrahamic religions are represented together in each image. First a photograph of the Christian "Holy Land" with the architecture of the Temple of David and text from the Quaran; second, a photograph of Mecca, with the architecture of a Cathedral, and text from the Hebrew Torah; third a photograph of Jerusalem overlaid with the architecture of a Mosque and text from the New Testament. A sacred geometry overlay is screenprinted in gold over each.
I believe that it's important to honor the traditions that groups deem sacred, yet be open to the possibilities that present themselves when those symbols are shown in one place.
